stays with you.

Skip Lab (“Skip Lab”, “we”, “us”) is an iPhone app that counts your skips and films your sets. This Privacy Policy explains what Skip Lab does and doesn’t do with your information.

In short. Your footage and your training data never leave your iPhone. Skip Lab has no account to sign into, shows you no ads, and we never sell your data.

Your data stays on your device

Everything Skip Lab produces about your training is written to your iPhone and stays there: the video of your sets, the pose data used to count them, your skip counts, set and session records, personal bests, and your settings.

The counting runs entirely on your device. Your camera feed is analysed on the phone, frame by frame, and is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. There is no cloud backup, no sync between devices, and no account for any of it to belong to. Delete the app and that data is gone with it.

What leaves your device, and why

Exactly two things do, and neither one is your training data.

1. A version check

When Skip Lab launches it reads a small public configuration record of ours to find out whether the version you’re running is still supported. It is a read: the request carries no account, no identifier, and nothing about you or your training. If it fails, the app carries on working.

2. Anonymous usage analytics

Skip Lab records a small number of anonymous product events so we can see which parts of the app get used and where it falls down: a session starting, a session finishing, a personal record, and a settings change. These carry counts, durations, and which option was chosen — never your footage, and never anything you typed.

They are recorded against a random identifier generated on your device at install. We never attach your name, email, or any other personal detail to it, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and this data is not used for advertising. Our analytics provider is PostHog.

Camera, microphone, and photos

Skip Lab asks for the camera so it can see you skipping and count. It asks for the microphone because the sets it films record sound with the picture. Both are used only while you are recording, and what they capture is written to your device.

Skip Lab asks to add to your photo library only so it can save a set there when you choose to save one. It does not read your photo library.

You can withdraw any of these at any time in iOS Settings. Recording stops working without the camera; nothing else about the app changes.

What we don’t do

• We don’t sell your data. To anyone, ever.
• We don’t show ads in the app.
• We don’t track you across other apps or websites.
• We don’t upload your footage, your pose data, or your counts.
• We don’t ask you to create an account.

If you give us your email

On this website you can ask to be told when Skip Lab is released. If you do, we store the email address you gave us with Resend, our email provider, and use it to email you about Skip Lab and nothing else. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing removes you. This is separate from the app — the app never asks for your email and never sends us one.

Children

Skip Lab isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. Since the app has no account and collects no personal information, there is nothing for us to hold. If you believe a child has given us something through this website, email us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If Skip Lab starts doing something new with your data, this page changes in the same release — not afterwards — and the date at the top moves.
